PRIMLAND WEATHER

Beginning as a narrow strip of land south of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the Blue Ridge Mountains cross the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. With elevations ranging from 1,000 to over 6,000 feet above sea level (6,684 at Mount Mitchell in North Carolina), these mountains provide the usual cooling effect on both summer and winter temperatures - that is, a 3.6 degree drop for every increase of 1,000 feet in elevation.

The Meadows of Dan temperature chart provided on this page most closely approximates monthly averages at the highest point in Primland (2,900 feet above sea level). Summer and winter temperatures in Primland's valleys would average approximately six degrees higher than on the mountain top.
